How we started:
Having grown up
with Poodles, a Springer Spaniel and a
Newfoundland,
Jon got his first Borzoi in 1986 and soon after
Jennifer became an integral part of Auroral.
Together, Jon &
Jenni have produced multiple Best in Show,
Multiple Best in Specialty,
and Multiple Group Winning, Multiple Top Ten
Borzoi.
Personal
& Borzoi Accomplishments:
In 2016, Auroral’s Anson, retired the Bred By
Exhibitor Rogborei Challenge Trophy
(3rd time, with Auroral’s Artemus & Auroral’s
Ajax), with the Borzoi Club of Ontario.
At the same show, also in 2016, Auroral’s Arabella
retired
the Stepplands Bred By Exhibitor Challenge Trophy
(3rd time, with
Auroral’s Topaz & Auroral’s Andromeda, with
the Borzoi Club of Ontario.
We have been awarded the Hall of Fame "Breeder",
and "Service" awards
from the Midwest Borzoi Club (MBC).
In 2007, Jon was
nominated by "Dogs in Review" magazine,
as one of the 5 Top Owner Handlers in the U.S.
In 2009, BIS MBISS
Am. Can. Ch. Auroral’s Across Time Sirius “Ace”
retired
the Dr. Charles Conally Memorial Challenge Trophy.
Jon & Jenni have re-donated the trophy to the
Midwest Borzoi Club,
and remains the Dr. Charles Conally Memorial
Challenge Trophy.
In 2004, BISS Am.
Can. Ch. Auroral’s Avalanche retired the Insight
Bred-By Exhibitor Trophy,
and in 2002 he retired the Carol Ann Stell
Memorial Challenge Trophy.
Club
Volunteering:
Jon has served on
both Boards of MBC & BCOA, President of MBC,
and Delegate for BCOA.
He is currently the AKC Gazette Columnist for
BCOA. You can read the

Jenni served MBC as Vice President for 16 years,
and also Chaired a variety of
other Committees, including Specialty Show
Chairman for many consecutive years.
Jon's AKC
Approved & Permit Breeds for Judging:
Jon is approved to judge all Hound
breeds, Papillons & Junior Showmanship.
Jon has judged in Australia, New Zealand, Canada,
and Wales, Great Britain.
In addition to
judging specialties across the country, Jon has
also judged
the Borzoi Club of America and the Otterhound Club
of America Nationals.
As members of MBC, and the
Borzoi Club of America (BCOA), we abide by
their code of ethics in trying to produce a
limited number of Borzoi that
exhibit the Auroral type, with emphasis on both
sound movement and temperament.
We are also members of the Michigan Hound
Association.
Both Jon & Jenni are approved Breed Mentors
for BCOA.
